This Privacy Policy explains how Vibecade ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use vibecade.co and the games and services offered there (the "Service").
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We never receive your Google password.
- Usage information. We collect basic analytics about how the Service is used, such as pages visited, referring pages, and general device and browser information. We also record game launches and shares using pseudonymous browser identifiers. A launch means a Play click, not verified gameplay or playtime. To limit abuse, we use keyed hashes of network addresses; we do not store raw addresses in the game event tables.
- Information you provide. Your saved favorites, ratings, submitted game information and images, reports, and any information you send us for support. Creator names and approved game listings are public; account email addresses, draft submissions, and private moderation notes are not public.
How we use information
- To create and maintain your account and keep you signed in
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service
- To respond to your questions and provide support
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- To comply with legal obligations
Service providers
We use third-party providers to operate the Service. These providers process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting
- Vercel — website hosting and privacy-friendly analytics
- Google — optional sign-in, if you choose to use it
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the Service to function, primarily to keep you signed in. A first-party browser cookie, lasting up to 30 days, helps deduplicate launches and prevent abuse. Browser storage helps measure second-game launches and visits on another day. Clearing this data resets those measurements. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Most browsers let you block cookies, but doing so may prevent you from staying signed in.
Embedded games
A third-party game loads only after you click Play. Its host receives ordinary connection information and may have its own privacy practices. We limit the permissions of embedded games with a browser sandbox. A Vibecade account does not save progress inside third-party games.
Data retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations or to resolve disputes.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
